Be informed. Having answers to key questions and obtaining good information will help you make a good decision.
Am I really pregnant?
A pregnancy can be detected as early as seven to ten days after conception. It is important that you receive a lab quality pregnancy test. If the test if positive, a sonogram is advised to confirm your pregnancy.
How far along am I?
Abortion procedures and their associated costs are determined by how far along you are in your pregnancy. A sonogram determining fetal age and viability will help show you what procedure will be used and what the risks are.
The Care Net Pregnancy Center of Southern Maryland provides lab quality pregnancy tests and sonograms performed by medical professionals at no cost to our clients. You owe it to yourself to be fully informed so that you can make the best decision regarding your pregnancy.
What about the Morning After Pill and Ella?
Plan B (Morning After Pill) must be taken within 72 hours of having sex. Ella must be taken within 5 days of having sex. Both will either prevent pregnancy or abort a pregnancy before it implants in the uterus. Possible side effects can include nausea, abdominal pain, tiredness, headache, and dizziness. There are no long-term studies on their safety in women under 18.
*Care Net Pregnancy Center of Southern Maryland does not offer abortion services or referrals.
